On the 11th November the MDTC Year 11 boys played in the district cup final at London road.
For the 4th year in a row we were playing against Skegness GS. Although we started very slowly and Skegness dominated the possession for the first 3rd they didn’t really create any clear cut chances thanks to some outstanding defensive work from the back 4. As we gradually warmed up and started to play a bit we finally made a breakthrough with a very well taken goal by Riley Hall.
The second half started much better and we dominated the game for the most part. We had ample scoring opportunities which fell to various players including Jay (who hit the post from 20yds), Cole (still can’t shoot for toffee!), Jan, James and Joe all having chances to put the game out of sight but sadly none were converted. A blip at the back meant they had two very good opportunities to level the game with a shot against the bar and a mistake from Tom in goal which was expertly dealt with by Tyler being the best of their efforts.
Thankfully we managed to cruise to the end of the game without any further issues meaning that the lads are once again the district champions.
They have performed extremely well over the past 4 years together and have done the college proud. Please congratulate all the players if you see them.
